The Electronic Health Records course will cover the usage and management of health information and the electronic health record (EHR). This course will introduce the use of health information and the electronic health record for any setting within the health care industry that encompasses continuum of care. Students will be able to assemble the patient’s health record and ensure all information is complete, identified and authenticated.
Graduates will be prepared to take the following certification exam: Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS).
The program provides a comprehensive blend of office administration, business communication, and financial fundamentals with the medical industry elements of medical terminology, medical diagnosis and coding (ICD-9-CM, CPT-4), invoice processes including billing and coding, policies and procedures (including HIPAA), and records management. Students will be thoroughly prepared for a variety of positions in the health care industry, such as billing and coding specialists, invoice processors, and electronic health records specialists.
This comprehensive career program prepares the participant for employment in today’s medical office. Upon completion, the student has the opportunity to sit for following certification exam: Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS).
